I am a new rebooter. Engraved on November 1, 2006 by Michael Dick; Comments (0)

Version 2 of M1k3.net.

I have always known of CSS Reboot, though I have never participated in it until now. I only began using web standards 3 months ago, so really I haven't been in the 'game' long enough to participate. I was viewing Neill Harmer's newly rebooted web site the other day when I noticed he mentioned the upcoming reboot. I have been meaning to launch my new design for quite awhile, however I have been busy with my freelance work and job at Premirus, so I thought I would participate in the Fall 2006 Reboot so I could have a goal to work towards to get my site up.

If you haven't seen my old website, then your missing out on, not much. Sure the design included a new nature scenery each visit, but the usability just wasn't enough for what I needed. The great news is that the new reboot is powered by my new PureEdit 2.0. I'll get into more detail over at Pureflux when I have a blog setup there, until then you're out of luck, AIM me or something.

Let's get into the details on what has changed here at M1k3.

First off, I have a fully working bulletin (blog) for my first time eve. I will try my best to keep it updated with an interesting topic each week. Next I have the new Quick Notes area on the side bar for them notes that aren't quite special enough to constitute their own bulletin. To move on I have a small preview/teaser of some of my recent work at the top that you most likely was drawn to before reading this. Last but not least I have a lot longer about me page that I probably rambled for days on, so please forgive me.

Above I mentioned that I only offer previews to my work at the top, and you may be wondering why I have only previews. Coming soon, hopefully by the end of tonight, I am going to go with Cameron Moll's concept of having a separate portfolio page outside of your primary blog web site. I felt like it was a brilliant idea because I can send potential clients straight to my portfolio instead of running around my blog before getting to what they care about, my work.

Until next time, peace it.
